Fallout 76 – Nuclear Waste (Jimpressions)

It never seemed likely that Bethesda was capable of handling an online Fallout game, and the dreadful mess that is Fallout 76 only validates one’s cynicism. Which is fine, because Fallout 76 is, itself, a cynical game.

A cynical game that barely works.

Lifeless, archaic, and featuring a totally mangled VATS system, this desperate trip on the Live Services bandwagon is an utter waste of time.

Unsurprisingly, the game is getting seriously Metabombed. 2.9/10 on PS4, 2.4/10 on XBox One, and an amazingly higher score of 3.2/10 on PC.

There is so much to dissect and digest here, so let’s get started! #1. This game is basically a fan project. it was not made by Bethesda, but by Battlecry studios. Basically Bethesda saw how good Battlecry was doing with their engine, bought the company, renaming it “Bethesda Austin Tx” and repurposed them to make Fallout 76.
