I know you said this isn’t your genre, but have you ever compared PUBG to Fortnite? Fortnite lacks the personal customization, and the art style isn’t for everyone. But the building mechanic adds a new creative level to the cat and mouse gameplay.

Honestly, I am tired of this “Preview Edition” “Pre Release” bullshit.
If you’re selling the game in stores nation, even world wide.. it’s released, stop bullshitting us and admit the game is released. This isn’t some early access anymore, anyone can go into a store and pick up a copy.. yet “Preview Edition” and “Pre Release” are on all the boxes, and with the case of Fortnite, all the loading screens.

Instead of making a new chain, I’ll just reply to myself! My brother plays this a lot for the Battle Points. It is a now a fundamental belief that owning a One X is Pay2Win among himself and his friends. They believe this since there is less input lag due to the better processor (even though it still has a frame cap), there is a higher draw distance supposedly, it has less rendering lag and pop-in, and the items load synchronously with the environment instead of after it. Any One X owner has a tangible paid-for advantage since most of… Read more »

That’s interesting, if correct. One nice thing about console MP is the more level playing field people have from using the same hardware. Processing advantages like that used to just be in PC gaming. Will be interesting to see how many games are affected by X/Pro consoles.

This is probably something isolated to smaller developers, and there’s no way PUBG has the best (or even good) console optimization. It’s barely a fully released game after all. I wouldn’t expect to see that sort of processing advantage for a game from a larger dev, or one designed specifically for a console.

According to Wookiepedifile, Bluehole got personalized help from Microsoft’s internal dev teams and the Xbox Division in general. Maybe not super optimized based on the reported performance issues, but it isn’t something on the level of other games as far as just being a straight port goes. Rare made the water physics for Jim’s sake!

But yeah, none of them actually own a One X. It’s just conjecture and bitterness as far as I can tell.
