I think the theory that Ellie will be trying to kill Joel is a bit too drastic. Like the theory that Atreus was going to die early on in God of War. Don’t get me wrong, Ellie would probably knock Joel on his ass if she found out fully about the lie (granted, they did imply she already kind of knew at the end of the last game), but going to kill Joel after all they’ve been through (plus after all the time they’ve had together in-between games) seems VERY unlikely. Also, I too hope they don’t fridge Ellie’s gal.… Read more »

Well I finished Detroit only moments and ago. There is almost an awkward kiss but shot in a way that didn’t require them to animate people kissing. But it is good to see that by the end of the game Cage dropped any sense of an attempt at being subtle and one of the final twists was a complete bunch of arse.

I love The Last of Us, but holy crap that presentation was hot garbage. Not the trailer, the trailer was great. Just everything surrounding it. First, they put the audience in a tent and bring out a guy to play the banjo. This is supposed to be “immersive” as it’s right from the opening scene. Except it’s not. I don’t know why Sony keeps doing this, but augmented theatrics only work on the few thousand in person, not the millions of people at home. But even for the the people in the tent, they ruined the effect. They should have… Read more »

I think the winner of E3 was me. Not a big winner, but there was actually a handful of games announced that I am interested in (hopefully not) being disappointed by at a later date, and the unexpected Jim, Holmes and Conrad team up was very welcome. Normally I get a couple games out of it that I possibly hadn’t heard of before. Largely because I’m one of those people whose interests like almost squarely outside the ‘aaa’ developer space (but like to keep an eye on it just in case). Bethesda’s show was weird: that title for the new… Read more »

When Bethesda said that Fallout 76 can be played solo I assumed that meant offline.

Information so far is that Sekiro is quite different from being a Souls game. There’s no experience or levels, you get new capabilities by finding new equipment and items. It’s much more an action game than an RPG.

KH Microsoft was the first trailer, basically “Here is your Frozen, also a reminder that Toy Story and Monster Inc exists”. KH Square Video was an expanded trailer of Microsoft’s, some pre-rendered scenes were cut or changed but all the actual gameplay segments were the same. It revealed returning characters like Xigbar and Larxene and expanded as well as translated a segment from a teaser last year featuring Ansem and Xemnas. KH Sony was an all-new trailer featuring mostly new gameplay and a new world reveal but it also recycled gameplay and the like from the other 2 videos. This… Read more »
