I’ve been getting into game archiving for a series I love – Monster Hunter – by putting together as many old trailers and footage from older gen games as I can find, when I get the time. Even that is often frustrating, as once a video’s gone from Youtube that’s it, it’s just gone, and I’ve nowhere near the technical expertise to be ripping cutscenes from Japanese-Only PS2 games, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m one of maybe ten people who cares to. And this is just one game series – to think of everything else across gaming history… Read more »

The comparisons LeRuina is getting to Digital Homicide are definitely warranted since he seems to be using the same slimeball tactics of Robert Romine; chiefly “Oh lots of other people said something negative about my game but it’s you in particular I have a problem with because you took it ‘too far’.” He tried to say he didn’t have a problem with Dunkey’s video on him because he thinks Dunkey is funny and Patty Jack isn’t. That age is best which is the first, When youth and blood are warmer; But being spent, the worse, and worst Times still succeed the former. Then be not coy, but use your time, And while ye may,… Read more »

Really don’t understand the beef with Horizon Zero Dawn’s title, the game clearly explains the ‘zero dawn’ part through the main story and the ‘horizon’ part is easily applied to imply the flourishing hope of future life regardless of apocalyptic tragedy. And if people honestly desire to regard games to be an “art form,” it would be nice if they’d stop expecting them to be labeled similar to supermarket groceries where there is nothing left to tantalise the imagination. It’d be like moaning that films such as Apocalypse Now be called ‘Vietnam PTSD adventures’ or that any of Radiohead’s songs… Read more »

I hate that pixel smoothing, they do that in Doom sourceports and it just looks terrible. I want my crisp pixels.
