Subscribing to a Youtube channel’s RSS feed is still the most reliable way to see what videos are uploaded. Youtube has RSS feeds built in for every channel, but it seems like not many people use them for whatever reason.

I do not understand companies that strive to have a very few successful clients instead of a LOT of clients that make some money. It’s a guaranteed way to have less product and less income, and the only way to sell it to shareholders is that you’re cutting costs. Youtube is screwing their users. Demonitization algorithms are there to ensure lower payouts. Any other company did that, people would scream that they were stealing. I mean, they are. The Youtube discussion reminds me about the Blender case recently. There where suspicions that Youtube was sabotaging them because they didn’t run ads. According to Youtube it was just a result of their UI and their support being shit. Yet I still wonder whether Youtube’s algorithms have a disadvantage for ad-free videos built in.
