I thought From was hardly involved with the development of the remaster. According to the wiki this was done by QOLC and Virtuos.

My guess is Bamco (and From) just dug themselves a whole with this one. They wanted DS on Switch, also put it on other modern consoles which is a nice deal actually. But then there comes realisation that Dark Souls is known as a multiplatform series and loved a lot on PC and have to release the remaster on PC as well, otherwise the community will go ape. But at the same time, having DSFix version on PC they would need to actually do some major work on the remaster for it to be better and compete. So in the… Read more »

Praise the sun! For the time of Jim Souls has occured! Immient Joy ahead! Whilst I feel it is expecting too much for a remaster to do nothing more then a few things(Remastering the graphics, minor tweaks), Dark Souls 1 is held back by the boring areas known as Lost Izillath and Demon Ruins. Bed of Bullshit is the worst boss. People will crap on Dark Souls II, they’ll claim “But that had worse bosses. On a more serious point, there are no changes because Bamco released this without input from From, and if they made any changes, the fan base would eat them alive. I do agree that From SHOULD have been involved, and should have made the fixes.
