[Disclosure Note: for some reason, Microsoft thought I was relevant enough for an Xbox One X and sent one. This game’s code was included.]

It’s Super Lucky’s Tale! Move over Master Chief, there’s a NEW squirrel (I think) in town!

Also, what I think about the Xbox One X.

I’m not a console gamer so I don’t really care about this Xbox One X stuff…buuut anyone else notice the commercials for it tout it as the “most powerful console” on the market yet they show fucking Cuphead, some other 2D platformer and Minecraft?

Yeeeeah way to show off that power buddy.

Crackdown 3 should have been a launch title. I don’t expect it to be any better than “ok”, but it’d be something besides Lucky’s Tale. I bought a Scorpio Edition of the One X. I will say I’m not super hyped about it, but I am happy with my new system. The original Xbox One was an underperforming mess. It managed just passable performance and a lot of games had horrendous load times. Already, I can see much steadier framerates and stunningly short load times for a console. I loaded up FFXV, and it’s so much a smoother experience. Also… Read more »

“Lucky’s Tale” was an Occulus Rift exclusive. It probably says something about the current state of VR in the industry, that they jumped off that particular wagon with the sequel.

Could be wrong(?), but I’m not all that convinced that comparing this game to an exclusive on another platform is particularly useful for the vast majority of people (the manner in which Jim discusses this game seems to assume everyone has all the systems). No one who has an XBox One X (or PC) is going to buy a Switch just so they can play Super Mario Odyssey to avoid playing this game. Comparisons with similar platform games available for the same system is much more helpful for consumers imo. Not that I’ve played it, but there was also no… Read more »

Don’t be so self doubting Jim, Microsoft clearly recognises a force in the industry.

I totally thought your were playing a new Tails centric Sonic game at first. The game reminded me of Banjo-Kazooie a lot, but my desire for mascot platform games went away with my PS2. It really didn’t look all that good to me, I’m sure the colors look nice in HDR but the simple almost geometric character and background designs looked like an HD N64 upgrade to me. I’m probably gonna wait for next gen and stick to using my Blu-ray player on the 55″ 4k Samsung since its the only 4k media that’s available to me, damn Comcast.

The One X really needed Crackdown ready for the launch. The fact that MS had absolutely nothing else really is not good enough. It’s like the launch of this generation back in 2013 when all they had was Master Chief Collection and Titanfall which was only console exclusive, you’d think they’d have learned. MS really need to be looking at the next generation of consoles which I’m guessing will happen around 2020/2021 because they’re fucked for the rest of this one.

So I think I understand exactly what Jim means here.

Mario Odyssey is better than Super Lucky’s Tale, therefore the Switch is OBJECTIVELY a better console than the Xbox-One-X.

And as we all remember, Horizon Zero Dawn was better than Breath of the Wild thus proving OBJECTIVELY that the PS4 was better than the Switch.

So Jim is saying that the Xbox-One-X is OBJECTIVELY the worst console currently on the market. I’m glad we have that settled and no one can possibly object to these mathematically sound facts.
