Jimquisition Live is TONIGHT! You can watch it at home right here too!

I will return with my shield, or upon it. Tonight at 7:00pm Texas Time, Jimquisition Live blasts out at SGC 2015.

I’ll be onstage with prizes, ranting, and Miniature Fantasy Willem Dafoe with a shot of what you love.

The event is being livestreamed and, if my posting from a phone worked, that stream is embedded here.

If not, just go to

Oh Lord, the nerves.

Jimquisition Livestream: Deadly Profits

I had to stay up late on Monday to make sure the Tales From The Borderlands review went up smoothly, so to pass the time I wasted an hour of the night playing Deadly Profits, the hot Early Access game from Digital Homicide. They ban all mention of me on their forums now! Can’t think why.

In terms of quality – and we use the word loosely – Deadly Profits is actually a marked improvement over the studio’s previous work. I mean, it’s not anywhere near good, and it’s cobbled together entirely from store-bought assets, but it’s really not as awful as one might expect.

Anyway, if you’ve literally nothing better to do, here’s a video.

Jimquisition Livestream: Evolve

An Evolve review is in the works, but here are some first Jimpressions in the meantime. Recorded live this morning, I go through some Hunter gameplay, then get my arse royally handed to me as a Goliath.

The game is… decent. Several hours in, I’m enjoying it, but I am already feeling somewhat tired of the whole thing, as nothing ever seems to change or – dare I say it – evolve. Haha. What a great bit of wordplay.

Anyway, here’s a video!

Jimquisition Livestream: Raven’s Cry

Equal parts hilarious and depressing, Raven’s Cry sees Topware reproducing the amazing awfulness of Two Worlds for a new generation. It’s laughable, and saddening, and the script/acting makes it seem like it was originally a porno.

Join Cap’n Christopher Raven as he abuses and uses women, stabs men in the hand for no reason, forgets how to make sounds with his mouth, and fails at his one basic job – being a pirate. He’s the hero we all wish we could be.

Jimquisition Livestream: Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon was one of my most anticipated 2015 games, and it’s not hard to see why. The game is officially out on Early Access, and even in its early stages, it’s more fun than a ton of “finished” major releases these days. Unforgiving, emotionally exhausting, and engrossing as hell, this is a game that chips away at my spirit, which makes eventually victory all the more incredible.

Here’s me playing over an hour of it in front of a live home audience. Come and witness the madness, share in my victories, and lament the passing of poor Amiel.

Goodnight, Amiel, may you find the peace in death that had been so cruelly denied to you in life.

Jimquisition Livestream: Citizens of Earth

Citizens of Earth is a pretty solid little RPG so far, mimicking Earthbound and not doing too terrible a job of it. The writing and voice acting is a little… uh… well. Why not watch and find out?

Hoping to have a review of this one up. Got waylaid by other tasks, and there may be yet more tasks coming in to waylay me further, but if I can get it done, I’ll get it done. That’s the Jim Sterling not-quite-guarantee!

Jimquisition Livestream: One Day For Ched

This game didn’t quite make it onto my Shittiest of 2014 list, but it was definitely one of the front-running contenders. It’s a hodgepodge mess that tries to be an old school shooter, but doesn’t understand what made those old games work so well. The result is something almost unplayable.

I had an impulsive desire to try and get through it on a live show. I failed. The stream didn’t even last all that long before the whole thing crashed, but the results did turn out pretty damn funny!

I’m hoping to do a lot more live stuff in 2015, alongside other content. Be sure to follow Jimquisition on Twitch for more in future!

Jimquisition Livestream: The Slaughtering Grounds

Those who follow my work will know that I recently had the developer of The Slaughtering Grounds attempt to censor me on YouTube. Using a copyright takedown notice, my original video of this spectacularly awful game was removed, and my channel was thrown into bad standing with YouTube. Despite the studio’s boasts that it would see me in court, and despite claims that lawyers were backing their case, the video was returned to me last night, indicating that Imminent Uprising (the “publisher” of the game) had failed to pursue any further action. To celebrate, I hopped onto the Jimquisition Twitch channel and played some more of it. Way more of it. Too much of it.

Up there is part one of the video. Down there is part two. Enjoy, and keep an eye on the channel, as I’m looking to do a lot more impromptu livestreams in future!
