Have you got the professor layton movie on your to do list?

So is the virus blood or saliva borne?
Elise and Nightingale’s casual bathing in contaminated blood was very disconcerting the multiple times it happens during the movie. Repeatedly smear blood all over your face, eyes, nose and teeth, but no, one mosquito bite and you’re a goner.

According to IMDB, the budget was $6M. So that’s a thing.

Also, pretty sure Hudson literally says “They got the sarge!” in Aliens. So it’s not just derivative, they’re directly cribbing from Aliens.

So…assuming a zombie travels about 2 mph, and that it spends about 20 hours a day wandering (leaving the remaining 4 to eat things), a zombie could potentially travel 1,160 miles in 29 days.

The 2012 film “A Little Bit Zombie” did the mosquito thing too, but haven’t seen anything before HotD2.

Why not Tekken? Tekken 7 is coming out next week. Oh well. It’ll still be fresh and there’s plenty to pick; The OVA with Heihachi catching a tomahawk with his teeth and eating it, there’s two live action films both with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Heihachi and the CGI one with Lee Chaolan randomly saying excellent even after his mansion was destroyed. Oh!

P.S. Plague Road’s already coming out? I thought it would take years because Kickstarter games take years to make.

Availability of the specific film but also awareness of its existence as well is going to be a factor.

Watched this shitty film (although not quite as shitty as I expected) specifically for this podcast. Can’t wait to listen.

My review of the episode. Sterling and Zimmerman skewer everything in their wake, poking fun at virtually anything they can get their bloody hands on. But underneath all the pop culture banter lies an effective podcast, with some palpable tension and enough blood, grue and boobs discussion to surprise even the most jaded zombie movie podcast hater.

The film which was almost House of Dead 3 stars Dean Cain.

I REALLY hope they review. I know it’s not a video game movie but I want Jim to talk about Dean Cain in full detail for an hour or two.

I’d love to see them cover the film he did with Big Show. Not gaming related at all but it’s Dean Cain and probably still better than Pixels.

I love all things Jim Sterling, but the Spin Off Doctors is easily my favorite non-Jimquisition series.

Curious to see what you guys thought. I saw this years ago and remember having a surprisingly good time, especially considering the film’s pedigree.

So quiet here, guys. Even on full volume I can hardly hear you over my own dying gasps of air.

Does anyone know if Altman or any of the crew writes reviews on Bloody Disgusting under a different alias?

Btw Shaun of the Dead definitely did NOT do the walking dead trick of camouflage using zombie guts like The Walking Dead, I only know as have seen it many more times than I’d care to count.

Fun episode guys. Most of the time I watch the movies in advance but… this was one of those movies where I was like…nah… I used to be into zombies and zombie fiction in general but I’m all “zombied out” at this point. I think it’s a combination of over saturation but also declining quality. It just seems like the same established troops are being used over and over again to the point of being boring. Also, when I was a student about several years ago now…I saw my first autopsy and after that zombies stopped being believable. Usually cause… Read more »

What the fuck is “grue”? They keep saying it like its a word.

A reference to Zork.

“It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.” Good times. Yes, I am THAT old.

Nitrium

Having now listened to the podcast, I think given the context it’s actually some sort of obscure slang for “gruesome” – so nothing to do with Zork.

So if Bart’s group wanted to sell the sample to a company and Elise’s group wanted to follow though with the mission WHY didn’t they just get TWO samples to satisfy both of there goals?

Because that requires forethought, a skill sorely lacking in both the screenwriters for this particular film and most horror protagonists in general. The whole time I was watching this, and reminded of watching it by listening, my only thoughts were “Get more than ONE”. Real science requires more than just a few drops for anything significant, they could have drained the zombie or gotten at least a dozen vials if they hadn’t wasted so much time exploring the campus (they knew about Curian from the intro and they knew he had a lab) as well as letting the TAs know… Read more »

Grue? The protaganist from “Despicable Me”? I think it shouldn’t contain any of him.

Sorry to go off topic, but can we just aknowledge that Laura was totally right about that Rabbids + Mario RPG for the Switch which just leaked?

Most of her rumours are right. She does have a good amount of sources, and she shouldn’t be mocked by other writers just because she leaked the story first.

Assassin’s Creed’s gonna be rough for ya. It’s one of those film adaptions that completely misses the point. Instead of being an enjoyable adventure through Inquisition era Seville it’s focuses on the dull near future shite and occasionally remembers that historical stabbing needs to happen.

I can’t shake the feeling that the AssCreed movie is what the writer’s think AssCreed is mainly about.

While players enjoy running about stabbing people in historical set pieces, the writer’s think AssCreed is this futuristic SciFi story which has a few action scenes in the past.

It was definitely written by people with no experience of the games. I also get the feeling that it’s trying to do a lot of leg work in setting up for a franchise by getting all of the Assassin/Templar history out of the way instead of giving us a bit of backstory with each iteration like the games did.

will you guys be doing Dead and Deader? It’s the film that was meant to be House of the Dead III but ended up being released under a different name and it stars Dean Cain.

Well, I’ll enjoy listening to it tomorrow. A good thing for me at least it went up later so I wasn’t divided between this, Twin Peaks & American Gods.
