I found I did not hate watching this as much as I hated reading it. Of course, this was not exactly a high bar to clear. The characters were a bit less insufferable, a bit less one-dimensional.

One thing I would argue is the book does not explain some better: rather it explains things *more* which I think is an important distinction from better. I don’t think knowing that people voted in Wil Wheaton as member of a ruling council for the Oasis helps the story in any way.

As someone who works in IT being too corporate to remember passwords is a real thing. I guaranty you some admin had to explain to him that no his password could not just be bossman, needed capitals and lower case, and needed to be at least 9 characters long. As passwords on sticky sheet are fairly common because most people don’t want to learn how to use a password vault.
