When the Doctor creates the order using the Wesker voice, that was “The Miming of Isaac”

I wonder how they didn’t know that Johnny Cage from the Mortal Kombat movie was in this movie wearing a cowboy hat.

Every time Conrad snickers at one of Jim’s painful jokes I wonder if deep inside his head he’s thinking “Godamn I fucking hate you” XD

I can’t believe there wasn’t a single mention of the zombie clown car in the entire review. Probably the most memorable part of the whole movie to me is the stupid amount of zombies that Umbrella could apparently fit inside a single shipping container.

This is probably my least favourite of the RE films. They work better when Alice is surrounded by an interesting cast & the supporting cast in this film were the weakest.

That being said, I still think on the whole the series is super fun and I will see next one in the cinema and probably buy all of them on Blueray when they get released together (when it’s on sale)

RE Afterlife Wesker is hilariously awesome. I totally forgot they had some other dude in Extinction. Where’s my inexplicably-POTUS lackey-shooting smug-yet-pouty douchebag, dammit?!

For fuck’s sake Jim.. I just downloaded a different podcast and this one showed up in my feed literal microseconds after I had clicked play. Coulda been 30 seconds earlier and saved us a real issue of choice here, mate.

new 52 animated movies are trash. bored acting with drawings that match bad acting. ( I didn’t know cartoons can act badly like live actors) Poorly written and badly animated.

The JLA ones are terrible and the batman ones are slightly better.

The new 52 is terrible, which is why they are getting rid of it. I love DC but they have become a convoluted mess.
Well at least they are consistent with both their animated and blockbuster films being total shit.

yea but the animated movies of new 52 are worse than the comics.
My friend read a few issues and noted the changes they made for the animated movies.

Every animation movie up to the flashpoint one was at least decent.
even Superman: Doomsday was at least competent.

and then I saw it, ohhhh the bad DCA movies are not done by Bruce Timm’s team, NO WONDER!

It’s a shame really. I have loved some of those older films, but these days something had gone wrong. How for instance can you ruin The Killing Joke. That should be impossible.

I thought the first RE movie was OK, not great mind you. But any movie that came later was pretty much garbage, any pretention of survival horror went straight out the window and every movie was just another action flick with zombies on the side. Shame, shame, shame…

Was just about ready to head to Patreon and decrease my contribution when you said you didn’t have any facts of the movie. Your 7 Resident Evil facts were enough to tide me over this time, just remember Jim, movie facts pay the Boglin bills.

I think this is where I just threw my hands up and said “fuck this series.”

The Resident Evil movies were never good but they at least attempted a coherent narrative. RE: Extinction, Afterlife and Retribution were just nonsense.

More the fool me since I keep paying to see them I guess.

Sorry to go completely off-topic, but the Gears of War 4 release on PC is an absolute disgrace and causing quite a shitstorm on their forums. Update wont download. Game wont download. Needs 160 GB free space because the store wants to update the game by moving it to a new location, so even a 300 MB update needs 80 GB of additional space to move the game to the new v1.* folder. And of course the update itself breaks the game too. No matchmaking available, and screen tearing and everything. 10/10 launch. Oh wait, I forgot. This is normal… Read more »

I wonder how long MS will still hold on to the shambles that is called UWP. Almost every game that works great on my Xbox seems to always have issues on Windows 10.

He’s told the story of their wedding at least once on an old podcast and it’s pretty awesome; involving an Atheist minister and an M. Bison burger.

The only one I saw in the cinema and I still wonder why. Unless I’m out of the loop in terms of the games this is the one that basically abandons any notion of being an adapation of an actual Resident Evil story and basically becomes Paul W:S Anderson’s The Adventures of Alice: Watch my Wife.

I always wondered if it was intentional that Claire was dressed like Sarah Connor from T2.

Andrew Barloq
Guest
Andrew Barloq

Yeah pretty much, it has nothing to do with the games… which I actually kind of like, because whenever they try to adapt the games they tend to do a poor job of it (I’m looking forward to what Jim and Conrad will have to say about Leon in Retribution).

Gareth
Guest
Gareth

That would be a plus but at this point the series just became a vehicle for Anderson’s wife as they little more than fan-fiction where the author avatar character saves the day.

Tutti

The book is better. It has the aftermath of the second film/book in it. The whereabouts of Jill and Angie is in it and why Alice is not with the group at the beginning.

Gareth
Guest
Gareth

Is that because the author wasn’t married to the blatant Mary Sue of the film?

Andrew Barloq

Wow… well, I don’t entirely agree that the movie is terribly made or that the action sequences are boring, to each their own. Afterlife should at least be a step up, I’d say it’s probably my second favourite RE film (y’know… relatively anyway, I’d still say none of them rise above a 5.5/10), but it’s very entertaining.
