Top Ten Shittiest Games Of 2017 (The Jimquisition)

*CORRECTION: For some reason I said 2K Games instead of Warner Bros. at one point. I blame these companies being so interchangeable. And the drugs.*

2017 had some absolute gems, but they were more than outnumbered by this year’s horrors, stinkers, and utter flops.

From those games mutilated to earn their publishers cash unabound, to those that simply had no talent behind them, there was much to choose from.

The wine has been drunk, the thinking’s been thought, and now we bring you 2017’s absolute worst games…

Hi everyone, Most of our regular commenters know about this, but for a while now we’ve had one person creating multiple accounts and spamming the comment section. You are fine to share your thoughts on the video and topic (whether they be positive/negative, agree/disagree), but you can not post dozens of comments, filling up the page with only your thoughts. Nor can you repeatedly reply to various people your same comments over and over. As such, this user was banned from the site, and anytime he created a new account, it is removed. Unfortunately, he keeps creating new ones, and… Read more »

I enjoyed it until you told us all to fuck off. .don’t pay good money to have my hero tell me to fuck off. I’d have liked a thank you for support or being endlessly attacked by any other gamer everytime we mention we support Jim Sterling. Or anything but that rather bleak and agressive end to an otherwise enjoyable segment.

Your a sensitive person too Jim so maybe watch that ending again and see how it might be misinterpreted by fans….

Happy new year! And thanks for all your excellent work through the year mate 😉

*gasp*

Clearly Jim has been paid off by EA to cover their misdeeds and take the heat off them by blaming ActiBlizzard for Shadow of Mormoney!

The same that Jim described happened to me in the finale of the first game. My nemesis at the end was some no-name orc that I didn’t even recognize. I still enjoyed it though.

Sort of surprised by Yooka-Laylee. I enjoyed it. As a backer, it’s what I was looking for. Jim usually reserves ‘shittiest game’ accolades for poor business practices or mechanically broken games and I don’t think it’s either. It just wasn’t for him (which is fine). They have apparently done patch improvements since to the camera system though.

I like that you still use the theater mask symbols for something.

I wish there was a Middle Earth game that was more Bi Bi Bi than Buy Buy Buy (seriously that would be amazing) (:

Haven’t played of these thankfully, though one thing I’ve noticed is that the crap android/steam games are starting to appear on the EU PSN as well now along with the US version.

Shadow of War is an interesting case, because if you largely stick to the missions and don’t go collectible hunting, the Orc variety and nemesis system works just fine. The Orcs are entertaining, the mixture of ambushes, betrayals, and other encouters keeps you on your toes, and you can definitely have a unique experience. That is, only in the first three Chapters. If you do any online stuff, or move on to the late game sieges, everything Sterling said is true. The Orcs are too disposable by then. I haven’t played the game, but I followed a long LP, and… Read more »

2016: Year of death. 2017: Year of the lootbox.

Whatever will 2018 be? Year of Red Dead Redemption 2? I swear to Satan’s thorny ballsack, if Take Two Interferes with some sort of bullshit western equivalent of lootbox mechanic in that game, I’m going to heroically (and nobly) not buy their damn game. (Unless it’s pre-owned, cos fuck ’em).

It is good to see Shadow of War, Battlefront II and Life of Black Tiger take their rightful place alongside Homefront Revolution.
