I’m so jaded and cynical at this point that even the bright spots of E3 that Jim enjoyed I was rolling my eyes at. Bethesda’s entire line up sounds absolutely terrible. Fallout 76 seems like a barren devoid waste of a “survival” game where they are using MP to make up for their inability to craft meaningful NPCs or storylines and is a cynical chasing of survival games two years too late, Mimic seems like they are chasing the Prop Hunt trend that lasted about a week and Quake is just a hero shooter. Hell the entire Quake aesthetic at… Read more »

Honestly, E3 has gotten so boring that I don’t even watch it anymore. Nintendo’s directs are usually good, but this year was very weak for them.

I kind of liked the musical parts of the Sony press conference, but funneling people into different auditoriums was a bad idea. They should have had a big opening with TLU2, closed the curtains, talked about some other games (indie and such), then re-opened the curtains for some samurai awesomeness. Jumping to some chumps talking around a sports desk was so uninteresting I just shoved my face into my switch until I heard Jim and Conrad talk about some new game. Incidentally… that delay in the live stream worked out great for me. 🙂

Personal losers: Nintendo Zealots being joy kills again (We’re not “real fans” if we want Waluigi and the usual BS they pull), Elder Scrolls with whatever that Mobile game was and another generic looking setting and Sony for the needless 20 minute interim. Also loser, Disney XD for cutting most of the Last of Us 2 footage to show ads suspiciously just as the kiss happened. Last loser: All the games I lost interest in the moment it turned out they were online only and allowed players to kill other players. I played Destiny and DayZ. never again. Why is… Read more »

Thank you for calling out Sony on their bullshit. To be fair, the Fortnite mess really doesn’t have much to do with how poor their presentation was though (I’m surprised you didn’t do a separate entry just on that, actually).

That being said, I’d agree that Microsoft really was the only company that came with things to share. They need to get their ‘exclusivity’ ironed out (because nothing really is), however the fact that they did pick up those new studios really helps make them relevant in the long haul (or so I hope).

Oh Ubisoft. You utter fucking [♪SKELETON WARRIORS♫]. Granted, they did not earn the… wait, they did. OH UBISOFT, you utter fucking greedy [♪SKELETON WARRIORS♫]. Sorry, I just felt that they earnt this again. Granted, not as bad as last year’s but they still make me want to roll my eyes, sigh and go OH UBISOFT. Ya gits. Anthem is shit. Or rather, it sounds shit, it’s cutting out the stuff Bioware is known for and Jetpacks. Wooo. Jetpacks. What? I’m sounding bored about it? What? I can buy different tints via microtransactions. Bioware’s more or less dead now. If this… Read more »

I would add Bethesda fans to the losers category. The whole Fallout 76 tease/reveal scenario has been an absolute trainwreck, and the E3 showing did nothing to convince people their concerns about the game are unwarranted. As if to make up for this, Bethesda revealed two ten-second animated title cards for Starfield and ES6 with absolutely no info whatsoever and a release date somewhere in the next generation. Which I thought was a weak move, but according to a bunch of other Beth fans, “Bethesda won E3”. All I can say is, thank GOD ….for Jason Schreier (sorry Jim). People… Read more »
